Giving

Making a gift

Your support is a blessing.

You can make a donation quickly and easily online.

Gift Aid scheme

The parish has a loyal group of people who make their regular offering via the Gift Aid scheme. For every £1 given to parish funds, the church receives an additional 25p from HM Revenue & Customs – at absolutely no cost to the parish or the donor. By completing this form once, it considerably increases the value of your donation. Whether you are contributing through the regular Sunday collections or making a special donation, the effect of your generosity can be boosted through the Gift Aid scheme. Please give this some thought. Anyone who is a taxpayer may complete this form. Any gift, big or small helps us.

You can also donate in these ways:

Contactless: via the Dona card reader at the back of church, or by scanning the QR code on the newsletter or on the notice board in church.

Donation envelope: (This can be Gift Aided) We have envelopes at the back of the church, for cash or cheque. For Gift Aid, the UK tax authorities will only require one name and one signature on the envelope. Please state what the donation is for e.g. for a wedding donation state ‘wedding stole fee’.

Regular bank standing order: Rather than the traditional Sunday cash collection, this method enables the church to budget more effectively over the course of a year and makes the mechanism for handling money much more secure. This can be done via bank transfer as below, or by filling in a standing order form:

A ‘one-off’ payment via BACS: Or set up a standing order directly through your bank to Our Ladye Star of the Sea. Our bank details are as follows:

NatWest Bank

RCAS Greenwich, Our Ladye Star of the Sea

Sort Code: 60-09-16

Account No: 25240676

Cheque: You can give a cheque payable to Our Ladye Star of the Sea, post in the postbox at back of the church, or send to the parish office.

Gift Aid envelope scheme: For those giving their weekly collection via the Gift Aid (envelope) scheme, all that is needed is for the donor to sign a form declaring that they are a UK taxpayer. There is no minimum donation and no commitment to giving a regular amount.

Leaving a gift in your will: Leaving a legacy to Our Ladye Star of the Sea is an enduring way to express what the church means to you or someone you love. All gifts, of any size, make a difference to the church. You can leave a gift for general or specific purposes, such as supporting our restoration. A gift in your will, left to a registered charity such as the church, is exempt from inheritance tax and reduces your overall residual tax rate.

Contact us if you need assistance with any of the giving options.
